COMMITTEE REPORTS:

  1. Sage Loan/Circ Rules Standardization (Ken Reading)

When the migration to Evergreen occurs, the standard loan rules that have been adopted will be incorporated for all libraries. If a library needs to have different loan rules, you must let Beth know as soon as possible.

  • Courier (Beth)

BMCC requested a cost analysis for 3 days per week courier service for BMCC in Pendleton and a cost for delivery to their satellite campus in Baker City twice a week.

  • Cataloging

Chrisina Macklin will resend the draft proposal for catalogue training. This proposal will be discussed at the next council meeting. Discussion revolved around the following: a budget line item for training, outsourcing all cataloging, hiring a part-time consultant/cataloger, centralized cataloging, charge per record that needs to be corrected and some type of recourse for a library that does not comply with standard cataloguing guidelines.

DISCUSSION/UPDATES/VOTING:

  1.       Centralized Disc Repair (Karen)

Karen looked into it briefly. The Grant is due in January. EOU would house the service and have a work study student to the cleaning. A public library must be the one to apply for the grant. Ken and Karen will discuss further via email after the meeting.

  1.       New Sage Libraries (Beth)

MOU has been sent to Klamath Community College. A presentation will be given in December for Gorge Link in Hood River and Crook County is asking preliminary questions.

  1.       Migration PR Materials Committee (Karen)

The migration committee has met twice. The press release will go by Shannon the end of this week. Karen will be doing a general brochure that will be generic and should be completed by December 1.  Christina is working on the patron tutorials and should be completed by Thanksgiving.

DISCUSSION/UPDATES/VOTING CONTINUED:

  • Evergreen Migration Update (Beth)

Beth will send post dates on list serve for the freeze of adding catalogue records and patron records. There are weekly conference calls with Equinox to review status and resolve issues.Beth is working with Equinox on the settings and the servers. It is lots of detail work at this time. There have been two regional trainings so far. The Dalles will be December 3, Union County will be December 7, and for those that will not be able to attend a webinar will be available.
